Benefits of a CPSA Membership

A membership in the Coal Preparation Society of America (CPSA) supports our mission of “advancing the knowledge of coal preparation”. There are a variety of ways we provide the latest information on coal processing technology to our membership:

• Our quarterly CoalProTec Journal with 32 pages of feature articles, columns and information on what is happening within the society and the industry delivered digitally to an unlimited number of employees anywhere in the world. This publication is second to none and focused on coal handling, processing and utilization with an international following.
• Our web site with additional information for members including:
  • Access to past issues of the CoalProTec Journal and CPSA Proceedings
  • Streaming workshop content from past Coal Prep and CoalProTec conferences on the major unit operations in a prep plant that is free to our membership and is a great training tool (under Videos)
  • Presentations from past CoalProTec conferences can also be watched on our website
  • A community forum for members to ask questions and comment. 
  • Coal Prep Primer
  • Corporate Members receive an umbrella password for their members to access the journal. 
• Our books are available to our members:
  • Mr. Coal Prep (hardback or downloadable version) 
• Members have the opportunity to attend 4-6 one-day workshops per year that focus on technical and educational training in Coal Preparation. 
• The biennial coal preparation industry conference and exhibition CoalProTec to be held April 27-29, 2026 in Lexington, Kentucky ensures that our members have the opportunities to learn about the latest techniques and equipment being applied in the industry. Please take this opportunity to also renew your exhibit space or to exhibit for the first time at this event.* There are many good spots left on the exhibit floor.   • Members Only may register for the Special Event at the CoalProTec (Members' Night Out). Reservations are required in advance. 
• Members are also kept up-to-date with the latest news from the Society through email blasts from Constant Contact. (You may unsubscribe at any time.) 
• Your membership fees also help us award fellowships to deserving students to help ensure that coal prep professionals will continue to be available for hire in our industry.

Corporate membership follows the calendar year, with annual dues of $500 that directly support impactful programs & services of the Coal Preparation Society of America.
